The
Company Mission Statement is the logical
extension of the Vision. Previously we said that
the Vision is the place or state where the
Company intend to be in the future. The Mission
describes WHAT the company will do to achieve it's
Vision.
|
Example:
For this site the Mission
statement would be:
"Mission of this site is to supply the ultimate knowledge to mid and top
managers in commerce, students and all interested individuals."
The Mission
statement is also set for the longer period, e.g. 3-5 years. Same as
Vision statement, it needs to be revised periodically, in the
period more than 1-2 years.
While the Vision is positioned high in the cultural structure of the company, the Mission is something that goes
down through the structure of the company. Therefore, it
is recommended to develop the Mission statements for the level of every department. More in the section Performance Management System in the
Strategy Alignment 1 – Mission of the Team section.
