Gartner's Magic Quadrant is the analytic methodology for assessment of creators of solutions it the area of information and communication technology (ICT). This tool is a two dimensional matrix, where the manufacturers are assessed, considering their efficiency and market share of their ideas. The tool also assesses their vision and long term strategy.
Every quadrant represents the individual research with detailed report. Every report is based on large number of criteria’s with different weighted function.
The final goal is to assess the market strength of every competitor in the sector and its relative position compared to competition.
Gartner publishes the magic quadrants for specific areas within ICT. Therefore, different reports are available, such as Business Intelligence platforms, Master Data management, Business Process management, etc. The reports can be very helpful to the companies when assessing their position in the market and creating the strategy.
Magic Quadrant is probably the Gartner's most valuable tool, but it is helpful to mention the others such Hype Cycle, Marketscopes, Vendors Ratings, Market Forecasts and Market Share
