What is the management? What is the role of managers within organization?

Management is the skill of doing business through other people. There are many other definitions of management. Despite the differences between various definitions of management, the management defines activities done by managers within the organization, by engaging organization's resources, with intention to keep the balance between effectiveness and efficiency on the short term and long term.
Managers obtain different business activities, grouped in related managerial functions. These activities within functions are related to other functions too.
Business activities are grouped in following managerial functions: Strategic Management, Strategic Planning, Organizing, Management of Human Resources, Operational management and Operative Control.
Strategic management has a purpose to define the organizational vision, business mission and to shape up the business strategy that can successfully fulfill the mission and vision.
Strategic planning has a goal of making company’s strategy to happen. Strategic planning is transferring the business strategy into specific actions.
Organizing is another business function of strategic character. Organizing is shaping the framework for the development of business processes.
Human Resources management is the managerial function of strategic importance. Human resources function is shaping up the managerial framework that provides a required level of competences and motivation of employees.
Operative management is operative function within the organizational structure direct and coordinates the business activities toward achievement of action plans projected by the strategy.
The output of operative management is concrete business result ( performance ). Therefore, operative management function is positioned on the level of performance management.
Operative Control is operative managerial function that has a purpose to continuously monitor the development of business activities. Purpose of operative control is to supervision of process and proposing measures for improvement. The operative control is based on the level of performance management as well.
