Data can be easily lost during traveling. Baggages, transportation, tiredness, all these are the elements that can make your data disappear quickly. Take following tips into your routine in order to avoid data security breach while you travel.

TIP 1

Keep your laptop always with you while you travel. Do not leave laptop unattended while you speak on the phone.
Why? Your laptop represents value. If you leave it unattended someone might use the opportunity. Only this way your laptop and company data will be safe.

TIP 2

Data SecurityIf you are using laptop while in plane, several people can see your screen. Be careful about who is looking at your laptop screen while you are in plane or at the airport! If you receive a phone call while you are in public place do not discuss about company business loud.
Why? Confidential information should not be discussed on public places because you never know where and how the information could leak.

TIP 3

By default be suspicious to public access points in cafes, hotels or airports.  Check is the VPN established?
Why? Free access is very handy but does not always offer the security. Reduce the risk by using VPN connection or with RSA Secure ID.

TIP 4

Do not leave your laptop in the car in public places. Although you may think that you will be back to the car within 5 minutes, there are people that are stalking on parking – they need only 1 minute!
