Performance review meeting is important performance management tool that requires preparation and compliance to certain rules. These rules are applying to team leader and his subordinates as well.

Performance review meeting is important performance management tool that requires preparation and compliance to certain rules. These rules are applying to team leader and his subordinates as well.

 

TEAM LEADERS

The duty of team leader is to arrange a meeting with the job holders and to book a room in advance. Team leader is reviewing job holder’s performance. He/she take notes with highlighting successes and shortfalls, against the pre-set objectives and key competencies.

TL talks to colleagues to help gain broader feedback on subordinate’s performance. Team leader communicate to the job holder the desired performance levels for the period. At same time he/she need to familiarise with the job holder’s role previous performance.

Performance ManagementTeam leader needs to remind job holder of their need to prepare for the meeting and remind them of its importance. Wherever is possible, it is important to ensure the job holder has relevant information relating to the period plan of the department.         


JOB HOLDERS

On the other side of table, the subordinate of team leader – the job holder - need to keep meeting date of appointment. It is expected with at least around two weeks notice. It is important to ensure you he/she is familiar with own KPIs, role and predefined standards for respective key performance indicator.

Performance review meeting is important performance management tool that requires preparation and compliance to certain rules. These rules are applying to team leader and his subordinates as well.



Jog holder also need to be familiar with departmental objectives and plans. He/she needs to think about KPIs and their level of accomplishment versus predefined target.

It is important to understand if there are areas where employee could get better results through improved levels of skill or knowledge, better understanding of processes or through leveraging other factors ( teamwork, technology, coaching, … )

As conclusion, everybody should be prepared for review meeting. Team leader need to do all necessary preparations for review meeting.

Employee that reports to team leader need to collect information, conducts necessary analyzing, prepare the report sheets and prepare fishbone diagrams and corrective action plans.
