Workplace management is is the skill that is part of ability to execute group of basic skills. Workplace management is the ability to manage tasks in order to conduct business processes. Work management is important for all positions within all functions. 

Key Behavioral Indicators

  • Develops project plan with appropriate detail and timetable 

  • Involves others in process and projects

  • Delegates to maximize effective use of skills and resources

  • Plans and meets deadlines

  • Anticipates and removes roadblocks to achieving results

  • Makes effective use of technology to improve productivity

  • Communicates plans and progress to stakeholders

  • Ensures that balance is maintained between process and project to meet goals

Tips for Development

  • Identify on-the-job development assignments such as small projects and start-ups, small scope jumps and fix-its, small strategic assignments, coursework or coaching assignments and off-job activities.

  • Encourage staff members to share learning with others in the organization. What worked well and what would we do differently next time on a similar project? How can we apply these learning to other projects?
