Equity Capital

Equity Capital is the portion of a company's assets that the shareholders own, as opposed to what they've borrowed: equal to total assets minus liabilities.
Also called "owners' equity" or "shareholders' equity". Equity is detailed on the balance sheet. "Equity" is also used as an adjective, to describe mutual funds that invest in stocks, rather than bonds.
