Category Management is a joint process (i.e. a retailer and a supplier working together) aiming to achieve mutually beneficial business goals. Working together offers significantly better opportunities, due to sharing of insight and resource.
Category Management focuses on using key tactics such as range assortment, inventory levels, shelf space, allocation & Flow, promotions, Merchandising and pricing to drive performance. However this is not exclusive and can involve anything that drives mutual profitable volume success.
